The Pope, He Dope

Pope Laments Christmas Consumerism, Urges People To Look Beyond ‘Superficial Glitter’

VATICAN CITY — Pope Benedict XVI decried the increasing commercialization of Christmas as he celebrated Christmas Eve Mass on Saturday night, urging the faithful to “Let us ask the Lord to help us see through the superficial glitter of this season, and to discover behind it the child in the stable in Bethlehem, so as to find true joy and true light.”

Bennie’s all blinged-up! If only he’d smile and show off his grill. And I bet half his ass was hanging out behind them Pope-robes. Prolly got him some shiny 22″ spinners on the Popemobile.

  1. Craig Cavanaugh says:

Bling is only appropriate for the Great and Powerful OZ!

    Nice.
    Bling indeed!
It’s be easier to get into the “superficial glitter” admonishment if I wasn’t so dazzled by the Papal Regalia, including the gold plated Papal Cross.
